I created WHERE IS DEB as a way to share my travel experiences with family, friends and the curious. In this age of multiple social network sites, having WHERE IS DEB will make it easier for me to keep people updated on what I'm up to and where I am. Another aspect is to share any important tips or information about places I visit. I hope this site will be easy to navigate - it should be as I built it and don't really know what I'm doing!! I left the UK in January 2000 to begin six months travelling, visiting Thailand, Laos, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Bali. Lombok, Gili Is. and Australia. For me the whole experience was totally addictive and I found I could not return home. I spent the next year training to be a diving instructor in Viet Nam and have since managed to stay abroad, visiting additional places including, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ethiopia and Egypt. During the last few years I have met some of the most wonderfully interesting people, experienced some amazing journeys, dived at some outstanding dive sites, ate some very unusual food and learnt a vast amount about different cultures. The last two and half years I became slightly stagnant, staying in Egypt with only a brief but magical visit to the Maldives. My thirst for travel raised it's head again and now, this year, my travels commence once more but with a slight twist. In celebration of a special birthday this year, I am dedicating a whole year to ticking off as many items on my must do wish list as possible. This year will start on 01-02-2012. (Good number combo and date I fly out of the UK). My plan is to blog, video and photograph these experiences and share with you all the adventures as they happen. I hope you will enjoy whatever is to come...!!!
